If you want to get your business online and create a web presence, look no further. RU Online are website design & development specialists, and can guide you through the process from start to finish, whether you want a simple informational site, right through to a complex, fully interactive experience for your customers or clients.

But first… do I even need a website?

Do I Even Need A Website?

Good question. Every business is different, so consider this:

90% of Australians go straight to Google whenever they need a job done.

Fact. This means if you’re not online, you’re missing out on 90% of the work. You don’t exist. So if you’re trying to get your name out there and find more customers, we can help.

“But that’s okay,” I hear you say. “I’m too busy already, I don’t need any more customers.”

Sure, being busy is great, but a good website still offers some other major advantages (apart from the obvious: finding you more customers and creating a professional image):

  1. You can target the good jobs and screen out the tyre-kickers and the jobs you don’t want. If you’re going to be busy, at least be busy doing the jobs you want to do.
  2. You can cut out a lot of your paperwork with automation, rather than doing things manually. This could save you hours per week that you can spend being less busy. Or being more busy if you like, doing actual work, not admin.
  3. It’s a safety net – if you take a few steps now to establish an online presence, it’ll be there in case you need it one day. If the work slows down, you won’t get left behind. Make hay while the sun shines.

And the last point is the most important, because an online presence is not an overnight fix. It’s like growing a tree: by the time you want to use it, it’ll be too late to plant it. So you’d better get onto it this afternoon.

Why Choose RU Online?

We’re really great web designers. Just ask our mum. But self-praise is really no praise at all, so have a look at our portfolio for examples of other businesses we’ve helped, and what they had to say about us.

What Will It Cost?

It’s better to think of it as an investment rather than a cost, but depending what you need, a website will cost anywhere from $500 to $5,000. For a more in-depth look at what you might need to spend, have a read through our website cost guide.

If you have a budget in mind, we’re happy to tailor a project to work within this. But otherwise, you’ll find a cost breakdown for a typical website project on the following pages. This breakdown is only a guideline, meant to give you an idea of a realistic budget for an entire project. It requires some in-person back and forth to work out a real-life budget.

If this is outside of your budget, there’s still plenty we can do to help you dig up more customers without taking the step of getting a website, so ask us about that.

Is It Worth It For Me?

You’ll have to balance the cost against the value a website would provide. How many new customers would it need to find you before it paid for itself? How many hours of paperwork could you save per week with automation?

And that’s where we come in. We’ll sit down with you and figure out exactly how we can help, and explain how much value that could provide for your business. Then it’s up to you to decide if you think it’s right for you.

What’s The Next Step?

If all this sounds interesting and you want to learn more, let us know.

We’ll sit down with you in person for a free, no-obligation, half-hour consultation and figure out exactly how we can help.

Then you’ll go away armed with enough information to decide if it’s right for you.

Working With Us

1.      Project Kick-Off

After our initial meeting with you, we’ll leave you with a completed Project Proposal, including a budget for the project. When you’re ready to go ahead with it, just return this Proposal and choose a domain name. You’ll get your first invoice for 25% of the project value to cover our costs and we can get started.

2.      Development Phase

Now we get into the nitty gritty of developing your website. We’ll build the back-end, and fill the site out with dummy content and stock photos, and give you a chance to provide some feedback on the design and layout of the site. This phase usually takes us less than 2 weeks, and upon completion of this phase your second invoice will be due (a further 50% of the project value).

3.      Project Completion

Now to finish the project off, we need you to supply the text content and photos you’d like on each page. We’ll send you a template to make this process as easy as possible. After you’ve completed and returned your content, we’ll use it to finish the website, your final invoice will be due, and the project will be officially completed!

4.      Down The Track…

Once your website’s up and running, it’s time to nurture your online presence. If you want to give this a boost to get it on the right foot, you can choose a Bite Sized SEO plan, or if you want to do some advertising, we can help develop a marketing plan and budget with you.

We’re always here if you need us, so if you need additional support or training for your new website, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.

What We’ll Need From You

We’ll need a few things from you along the way, and the sooner you can return them the better. Here’s a quick checklist:

  • Return the completed Project Proposal form
  • Choose a domain name (like yourdomainname.com.au)
  • Choose a website theme (we’ll help you with this)
  • Supply us with text content & photos for each page (we’ll give you a template to fill out)

How Long Will It All Take?

2 weeks, from start to finish. That’s how long it’ll take to get your website up and running once you send us all the information we need.

Then, nurturing your new online presence should become a part of your ongoing marketing plan. If you want to give your online presence a boost and start it off on the right foot, you can choose a Bite Sized SEO plan (details later). Otherwise we’ll give you some tips on how you can do this yourself with social media etc so your new website can put down some online roots and really grow.
